Apple has launched a screen replacement program for Apple Watch Series 2 and Apple Watch Series 3 smartwatch, as a part of which it will replace the screens of the smartwatches that have a cracked screen.
But not every Apple Watch Series 2 or Watch Series 3 smartwatch is eligible for the free screen replacement program. Apple has defined a specific set of circumstances under which an Apple Watch Series 2 or Watch Series 3 is eligible for free screen replacement.
Apple in its support page wrote that “under very rare circumstances, a crack may form along the rounded edge of the screen in aluminum models of an Apple Watch Series 2 or Series 3.” The crack may begin on one side of your Apple Watch and then continue around the screen. If your Apple Watch has a crack on its screen that matches the pattern described by Apple then you can get the screen of your Apple Watch replaced for free.
The Apple Watch Series 2 and Watch Series 3 that are eligible for free screen replacement include — 38mm and 42mm Apple Watch Series 2 sold between September 2016 and September 2017, 38mm and 42mm Apple Watch Nike+ Series 2 sold between October 2016 and October 2017, 38mm and 42mm Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS) and Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS+ Cellular) sold between September 2017 and September 2019 and the 38mm and 42mm Apple Watch Nike+ Series 3 (GPS) and Apple Watch Nike+ Series 3 (GPS+ Cellular) sold between October 2017 and September 2019.
