Army Bunkers removed from Handwara
Srinagar, April 19: With the Handwara town being gripped in turmoil over the alleged molestation of a girl by the locals, the army today removed as many as three of its bunkers.
As seen earlier during the protests, the locals had plundered one of the bunkers, even setting it on fire. The people had been demanding the removal of these bunkers for a while now. The incidents over the last week, however, bluntly portrayed the sentiment against the army.
The locals clashed with the soldiers and after death of five of them the city was completely shutdown. The masses even reached out to the newly elected CM of the state Ms. Mehbooba Mufti when she was in town after the killings.
