Army Chief in J&K; likely to meet special forces of Surgical raid

Jammu, October 1: Indian Army Chief General Dalbir Singh has arrived in Jammu on Saturday to review border security situation in the state in the wake of continued firing incidents at the international border.

“He will take stock of the prevailing situation on the borders in the state. GOC of Northern Command and the three commanders of 14 corps, 15 corps and 16 corps will be present during the briefing session. It is likely the Army Chief might visit some forward positions on the Line of Control (LoC) ,” sources told IANS.

This will be General Dalbir Singh’s first visit to Jammu and Kashmir after India carried out surgical strikes against launching pads across the LoC on Wednesday night.

The General is also expected to meet the teams involved in the Surgical raids in Line of Control Area.
