Indian Army in continuation to its image of being a catalyst in upliftment of the living standards and to provide basic amenities to village located in remote location, distributed 10 Solar Electric Lights to the needy villagers of Chichian Bandi, Haveli Tehsil of Poonch district (J&K) on 04 September 14.
As the village is located in a remote area and there is an acute problem of electricity in this village, the request to provide solar lights to the village was projected to the Army during the regular interactions with civil population. To alleviate the problem, the local Army unit immediately initiated steps to provide solar lights to the villagers. Provision of solar lights is an important step towards catering for the basic amenities and will also assist the children in their studies thus facilitating brighter future.
In a brief event the Commander Poonch Brigade, distributed the solar lights to the villagers. The event received an overwhelming response from the villagers who were gratified with the efforts of the Poonch Brigade and the role played by Indian Army in making major improvement in the day to day lives of the locals.
