Army give helping hand again; this time they help Budgam district
Budgam, May 28: As part of the ongoing Endeavour to help Soyibug village of Kashmir in up gradation of social infrastructure in the field of education, healthcare, sports and talent building, the local Rashtriya Rifles unit of Chinar Corps organised an event at Govt Middle School, Soyibug for presentation of infrastructural assistance to the PHC and Govt Middle School of the village.
The event also provided the platform to the children to showcase their cultural as well as martial art talent The event was graced by Lt Gen Subrata Saha, GOC, Chinar Corps as chief guest, Maj Gen Asit Mistry, GOC ‘K’ Force, Mrs Mehmooda Kar, CMO Budgam, Mr Mir Altaf Ahmad, DC Budgam and many other civil dignitaries. In Sep 2014 Soyibug village was adversely affected by the devastating floods. Since then the residents of this village have been approaching Army and civil authorities for social intervention in installation of transformers, revitalization of water supply, boosting the capacities of Primary Health Centre and improving the road connectivity. While some issues were projected to civil administration, aspects that were implementable within the scope of Sadhbhavana projects were taken on by Army.
The event kick started with colorful cultural program presented by the school children showcasing their talent in folk dance, folk songs, Taekwondo and Wushu. After this, a brief ceremony for presentation of assistance was held during which the PHC of Soyibug was presented with medical equipments such as ECG machines, Oxygen concentrator, Nebulizers, Ultrasonic scanners and a Generator set. The Government Middle School was also provided six computers and peripherals and related furniture.
The event was a grand success with huge participation by the local people.
