Army Hosts Iftar; Cabinet Ministers, Locals attend party

Baramulla 13 July: To celebrate the spirit of Ramzan with the people in the Kashmir Valley, the ‘Kilo’ Force of Chinar Corps hosted an Iftar party at Sharifabad on 13th of this month. People from all sections of society graced the occasion.

Notable among them were Sajjad Gani Lone, Cabinet Minister for Science, Technology and Animal husbandry, Naeem Akhter, Cabinet Minister for Education, Abdul Haq Khan, Minister for Rural Development who were joined by members from civil administration, police service, academia, media, business community and prominent villagers from neighbouring areas. From the Army, Maj Gen Anil Chauhan, Chief of Staff, Chinar Corps along with other senior officials were also present for the occasion.

The Iftar began with the traditional breaking of fast and offering of Maghrib Namaz (Dusk Prayers). This was followed by dinner in which customary Wazwan was served. Speaking on the occasion, Major General Asit Mistry, General Officer Commanding, ‘Kilo’ Force highlighted that the spirit behind organizing the event, was to celebrate the core values of our Nation, epitomized by unity in diversity, universal brotherhood and secularism. He thanked all the guests for their presence during this pious event and wished for peace and harmony to prevail in Kashmir.
