ARMY ORGANISED CAPACITY BUILDING TOUR FOR RAJOURI YOUTH RETURNS (MEET GOVERNOR, J&K AND GOC WHITE KNIGHT CORPS)

Jammu 28 February 2018: 20 students from various Tehsils of Rajouri District met the Hon’ble Governor of J&K,    Shri NN Vohra at Raj Bhawan and Lt Gen Saranjeet Singh at Nagrota on 28 February 2018. The students are part of a 10 days Capacity Building Tour.

The aim of the tour was to expose the students to ‘Animal Husbandry’. The students were taken to various premier institutes in the field of R&D for cattle in the state of Haryana and Punjab viz. Central Institute for Research on Buffaloes sub-centre, Patiala, National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal, Central Institute for Research on Buffaloes, National Research Centre on Equines and Central Sheep Breeding Farm, Hisar.  The tour reached Jammu on 27 Feb 2018.

The Hon’ble Governor was given a detailed brief on the conduct of the tour by the officer in charge of the tour. While interacting with the students, Hon’ble Governor encouraged the youth to establish their own enterprise in various fields of cattle rearing. He further added that there are various Government schemes that can be made use of for establishing Dairy farm, Poultry farm, Fisheries etc. that will give rich dividends to the individuals in future. The Hon’ble Governor also urged the Youth to spread the message of the importance of education and emphasised that youth should strive to become responsible and good citizens by contributing towards the progress of the region.

After the interaction with the Hon’ble Governor, the students also interacted with                         Lt Gen Saranjeet Singh, General Officer Commanding White Knight Corps. During the interaction, the GOC also emphasised the importance of education and role of the youth in nation-building. He motivated the tour to follow their heart and work hard to make a better life for themselves and their families. The students thanked the GOC for giving them the opportunity and exposure to

The students will now be returning back to Rajouri where a flag-in ceremony will be held tomorrow.
