Jammu: 17 September 2016, Army at Jhangar organised a Mine Awareness programme at Seriyah village recently for the locals. The initiative had a overwhelming response with 204 villagers including 65 male, 56 women and 83 children attended the programme. A team led by officers from Army conducted the camp, to included demonstration of dummy mines, various skits and lectures on the subject of do’s & don’ts on detection of a mine/suspicious object & first aid to be administered to a mine casualty were also conducted for the benefit of the audience. The locals acknowledged it as a positive step for spreading awareness towards a important issue.
