ARMY ORGANISES LIGHT VEHICLE REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE CADRE FOR UN-EMPLOYED YOUTH
A week long light vehicle repair and maintenance cadre for unemployed youth, organised by the Mendhar based Rashtriya Rifles Battalion of Romeo Force, concluded today. 29 youth from Mendhar and its surrounding villages participated in this training programme which has been conducted with dual aim of ensuring the youth gain the necessary maintenance skill to generate employment and also educate the new drivers regarding the road traffic rules to ensure maximum road safety is adhered by them.
This initiative taken by the Indian Army, in conducting such a training programme, was appreciated by the village elders of the region as well as the parents of the youth who participated in the cadre.
Mr Waqar Ahmed one of the participants who spoke on the occasion thanked the Indian Army for having undertaken this initiative which has provided all the participants an excellent opportunity to learn a new skill through first hand training and thereafter use this skill to supplement their income.
