Army organises medical & Swine flu awareness camp at Manasbal
In pursuance of its everlasting efforts in providing basic amenities at the doorsteps of the people in the remote areas of Srinagar, a Medical and Swine flu awareness camp was organized by the Army under the aegis of Chinar Corps at Dara Village of Manasbal area of a Ganderbal district to address the medical requirement of the local populace. A total of three medical officers from the Army including a civilian Medical Officer along with ancillary staff were involved in the camp. Approximately 450 locals (Male – 282 Female – 138 and children – 30) of nearby villages were provided medical assistance.
In view of the rising cases of Swine Flu, Swine Flu awareness lectures were also conducted at the venue including health and mitigation measures on the issue like hygiene and sanitation, cold weather amelioration measures, communicable and non communicable diseases, water purification and water borne diseases were discussed and the populace was made aware of the preventive measures. The facility was also availed by neighboring villages of Asthan, Dara, Dardkut & Nagbal. A demonstration and awareness talk on prevention and detection of Swine flu was given by Army and Civil doctors provided by CMO Hazratbal. The village youth smartly dressed in Sadhbhavana tracksuits volunteered to help and worked shoulder to shoulder with army person to make this event a success. Senior Army official thanked the local youth for their participation. Local Sarpanch while interacting with the officials gave the credit for the successful medical and awareness camp to the joint efforts of army and civil authorities and requested more such civic actions.
