Army Organizes Iftaar Party for Ministers and Locals in Srinagar
Srinagar, July 21: The spirit of the holy month of Ramzan was at full display on 16 Jul 15 at Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry Regimental Centre where the Chinar Corps organised the Iftar party in consonance with the Kashmiri traditions. The occasion saw a confluence of representation from State Government machinery, Security Forces including Ex Servicemen and Civil Society which was reflective of the secular values and universal brotherhood that India and the Indian Army stand for. Among those who graced the occasion were Omar Abdullah, Former Chief Minister, Abdul Haq Khan, Minister of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Naeem Akhtar Education Minister, Shri Altaf Bukhari Min of R&B and other dignitaries. It was only befitting for the Chinar Corps to organise the pious event at the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry Regimental Centre whose soldiers, belonging to all the regions and communities of the State, truly embody its strong social fibre.
The Chinar Corps Commander Lt Gen Subrata Saha extended warm greetings to the people of Kashmir for the Holy month of Ramzan and expressed hope that this month of sharing and caring would further promote peace, prosperity and brotherhood in Kashmir.
