Srinagar:  The Army Public School, Srinagar situated in Badami Bagh Cantonment opened for Classes IX to XII on 18 Sep 14 and Classes I to VIII started from 24 September 14. While restoration of main School building has started on a war-footing under close supervision of the Management, classes are presently being run from alternate accommodation provided within the Cantonment by Army. It has been learnt that Top Priority has been given to restoration of the School. The Management’s aim is to ensure that students do not miss classes at this critical juncture, especially those who are to appear for their Board exams shortly.


To ensure safety of students and address their health concerns, all necessary measures are being taken by the Management including provision of free mineral water and vaccination to students and staff. School buses are also being run from Batwara Gate to take the teachers and students to the School location.

Almost 500 students have started attending School and more than 80% of teaching and adm staff has also reported for duty. The Principal has requested all remaining students and members of Staff to rejoin the School at the earliest.
