ARMY REACHES OUT TO THE FLOOD VICTIMS
Heavy rainfall in Jammu region in the past three days has caused havoc in and around Jammu region. The gallant Army Jawans of Tiger Division reached out to the flood victims of the areas along Tawi River and villages marooned by the flood caused by heavy rainfall.
More than 4,000 villagers and 30 BSF personnel have been evacuated by the Army so far. The flood victims manly include Women, children and elderly persons. Besides medical aid; food and shelter was provided by the Army. The Army is helping flood victims in Paragwal, Nai Basti, Sohanjana, Gakhrial, Makwal, Mandal, Raipur Satwari, Khepar, Ramgarh, Nanga, Sidhra Bridge, Tawi Bridge Number 4, Tawi Range, Rangoor and Belicharana. An Army Helicopter was also launched to evacuate BSF personnel from Katmarian, Omen and Simbal.
The flood relief operations for the victims are being carried out on War footing and all effort is being under taken to provide assistance to the flood victims and State administration by the Army.
