Army recruitment at Anantnag; aspirants thrashed
Anantnag, September 21: If reports of a Jammu and Kashmir based website are to be believed, the five day recruitment rally in Anantnag did not bode well for some aspirants.
The five day Army recruitment rally at High Ground here began today with about 340 candidates were screened on day one.
The Recruitment rally is covering districts of Budgam, Pulwama, Shopian, Anantnag and Kulgam.
In an interaction with the reporters present at the venue, Brig JS Samayal, Deputy Director General Recruiting (Punjab and J&K), said that candidates are being screened for physical fitness, medical examination and documentation. Successful candidates will then undergo written test on 23 Oct at same venue according to the Brigadier.
To ensure the safety of the candidate, security arrangements were put in place on the road leading to the High Ground.
According to a report in SN, some of these Kashmiri youth were thrashed and their documents were torn up by a mob in Anantnag town near Sarnal.
According to the Army, total of 12000 candidates have registered.
This is first in time after valley erupted over the killing of HM commander Burhan Wani that youth participated in the Army recruitment.
