Army Rescue in Kupwara
Kupwara: Continuing with its efforts to assist the Awam at times of distress, the Army of local RR unit rescued approx 72 villagers affected by flood in villages Kawari, Awatkul and Mughalpura in Kupwara district. All the three villages are on the bank of river Pohru. On 05 Sep 14, the local RR unit received a phone call asking for assistance to villagers affected by flood in these three villages.
The local RR unit flood relief columns on standby immediately inducted into action. The columns reached the respective villages and were able to successfully evacuate and relocate the affected villagers to safety. A total of 72 villagers from all three villages were provided assistance in relocating to safer location. The area is being monitored continuously by the rescue columns. The villagers expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the speedy and timely reaction and thanked Army for its ever willing support and assistance in service of the citizens.
