Jammu : On 15 October 2014, at about 1030 hours, a Maruti Van belonging to a local of Village Khari of Ramban district, going to Makarkot, lost control and fell down approximately 300 feet in Mohu – Mangat Nala near Nachlana. The Rashtriya Rifles battalion based at Nachlana launched a rescue party which rushed to the accident site where seven passengers including five children were entrapped in the bushes. With the help of the local civilians and J&K Police, Army could locate and evacuate all seven passengers who were severely injured. All the victims were brought to Army camp where life saving treatment was administered. The injured were further evacuated through Army ambulance to Sub District Hospital Banihal.

The locals appreciated the timely and prompt action by the army that resulted in saving of precious lives.
