Jammu 02 Apr 2015  A flood rescue operation at village Lachdyaram (Jalana), Kishtwar was launched by the Indian Army troops of Delta Force, located at Kishtwar, on receiving the distress call from the locals and civil administration that witnessed 50 Army personnel being pressed into action to divert the water of a over flowing nala in the village away from the houses of locals. RESCUE OPERATION AT VILLAGE LACHDYARAM (JALANA), KISHTWAR IN PROGRESS (2) RESCUE OPERATION AT VILLAGE LACHDYARAM (JALANA), KISHTWAR IN PROGRESS (3)

The incident took place at around 10 PM on 01 April 2015  when due to incessant rains, the nala in the vicinity of the village started over flowing and entering into the houses of the locals causing damage. The Army personnel in coordination with Civil Administration and locals utilised civil earth movers in creating an artificial bund to guide the water channel into other nalas in the vicinity.

The timely and prompt action by the Army personnel prevented loss to civilian lives and their property thereby reinforcing their faith on the Indian Army.
