GANDERBAL, SEPTEMBER 01: Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal, Tariq Hussain Ganai today chaired an officers meeting to take stock of arrangements being made for upcoming auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
Directing the Assistant Director Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs for ensuring availability of adequate stock of essential commodities including Rice, sugar, Atta and LPG on ration ghats, the DDC said that all Ration Ghats remain open from 8 a.m to 8 p.m even on holidays for the convenience of general public. He also asked for intensifying market checking to curb illegal profiteering and selling of substandard food items.
Directing Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Ganderbal for ensuring cleanliness of Eidgahs, Mosques and markets and repair of damaged and non-functional street lights within three days, the DDC asked the PDD and PHE authorities for ensuring uninterrupted power and water to the people on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
It was decided in the meeting that the Animal and Sheep Husbandry Departments would make available chicken, sheeps and goats for sale as per the past practice. The Assistant Regional Transport Officer was directed to ensure availability of adequate number of vehicles especially on Hazratbal route for the convenience of the people.
The senior officers of district administration and members of Civil Society attended the meeting.
ANANTNAG, SEPTEMBER 01: Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah today chaired a meeting of officers to ensure that proper arrangements are well in place for the celebration of Eid-ul-Azha here at Dak Bunglow.
ADDC, SE R&B, SDM Pahalgam and Dooru, Exens of PDD, PHE, Dy.CMO, Chief Animal/Sheep Husbandry Officer, Anantnag, AD Food, Deputy Director Fire and Emergency, Food Safety Officer, Executive Officers of Municipal Committee/Councils, Deputy Registrar Cooperatives, AD Fisheries, all Tehsildars and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
The availability of essential commodities including rice, atta, sugar and kerosene, transport arrangements, cleanliness of Mosques, streets and Eidgahs, ambulance services, uninterrupted power and water supply and repairs and renovation of roads were discussed threadbare in the meeting.
Deputy Commissioner instructed AD Food to ensure the availability & distribution of essential commodities before Eid.
Chief Medical Officer was asked to ensure round-the-clock duty of doctors and paramedical staff in the health institutions of the district.
Tehsildars were instructed to keep a close vigil on the stock and supply position and liaison with the CAPD to ensure that essentials are sold as per the statutory and reasonable rates.
Chief Animal Husbandry Officer was directed to make sure that there is adequate stock of poultry birds is available in the district. For facilitating the public in general, District Sheep Husbandry Officer was instructed to ensure that adequate stocks of sacrificial animals are available. Besides, AD Fisheries was also directed to establish a stall on the eve of festival to make sure that adequate stock of fish is available to the people. It was decided that concerned departments shall establish their stalls at Sports Stadium Anantnag.
Executive Officers of concerned municipalities were instructed to ensure proper cleanliness and sanitation around the centrally located mosques, streets and eidgahs. Besides, they were directed to get the street lights repaired at an earliest.
PDD and PHE departments were instructed to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply during the festival. PHE authorities was directed to put in place water tanker services to those areas where there is scarcity of water. R&B was directed to repair roads and streets.
The officers assured DDC that the necessary arrangements will be put in place in advance for the convenience of people.
BUDGAM, SEPTEMBER 1: Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Mir Altaf Ahmad today chaired a meeting of officers to finalize the arrangements for the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed upon the officers of PDD & PHE for providing uninterrupted electricity and drinking water supply to the people besides ensuring proper street lighting.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the Municipal Authorities to ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness at all the places particularly at those places where congregation prayers would be offered on Eid. Special attention needs to be given to pre and post cleanliness on Eid ul Azha.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department to ensure that there should be no shortcomings in the distribution of essential commodities of rice, sugar, and LPG that are already adequately stocked in the district. Besides the concerned were directed to keep the ration stores and sale outlets open during holidays in this regard. He also asked for initiating strict action against profiteers and black-marketers. He ordered constitution of special market checking squads to keep vigil on market rates and ensure that no sub standard, adulterated or spurious items are sold. The rate list should be displayed on every business establishment.
Directing the Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Revenue, Metrology and Food Safety departments to intensify market checking, the DDC asked the CMO Budgam to ensure that medicos and para-medicos attend the duty as per the roster, besides availability of ambulances and sufficient stock of drugs.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the ARTO to ensure special transport facilities are made available to ferry the commuters.

The Deputy Commissioner also directed the baking authorities to ensure that hassle free banking services are provided to the citizens. Besides they were directed to ensure that ATMs are regularly refilled with cash. He also urged upon the Fire and Emergency services to be prepared to deal with any eventuality.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed all officers vested with magisterial powers to keep close liaison with the police administration and were directed not to leave their stations without prior permission.
The meeting was informed that on the eve of Eid ,the Animal Husbandry Department would set up sale outlets for sale of poultry chicken at 10 per cent discount at Tehsil Hqrs. of Chadoora, Chrari Sharief, Budgam, Beerwah, Khan Sahib and Khag. Similarly, the Cooperatives Department informed that they would also set up sale outlets for sale of poultry chicken at 10 per cent concessional rates at B.K.Pora, Magam, Chrar-i- Sharief, Khan Sahibh, Beerwah and Budgam.
The meeting was informed that Sheep Husbandry Department made available sacrificial animals for sale at Narbal, Magam, Ompora, Bemina, Beerwah, Khan Sahibh, Chadoora, Kremshore,Badipora, Pakherpora and Chrar-I-Sharief.
The Assistant Director Fisheries informed that trout would be available for sale at their farms namely Bassen Wadder and Khag. It was informed that on eve of Eid fish from private farms would also be available for sale and in this regard Mobile Sale Units would also be available at Magam, Budgam and Chadoora.
It was decided to set up a joint control room at the office of SSP Budgam for better synergy between various essential service departments and grievances redressal helpline no 01951-255042 was set up for the common citizens.
