Assam government’s big decision, no govt job for people with more than 2 children


Assam:The Bharatiya Janata Party government of Assam has taken a big step towards population control. The Sarbananda Sonowal government of Assam has decided that from January 1, 2021, those people who have more than two children will not get a government job.

This decision has been taken at an important meeting of Assam cabinet on Monday.

According to a release from the Public Relations Department of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, people who have more than two children, after 1 January 2021, they will not be considered eligible for government jobs.

In September 2017, the Assam Legislative Assembly passed the Population and Women Empowerment Policy. Under this policy, only those applicants of government job who have two children will be eligible for the job, besides the existing government employees also had to strictly follow the policy of two children.

The new land policy was also approved in the cabinet meeting. Under this policy, people who are native to Assam but who do not have land will get three bighas of land from the government. Apart from this, the government will also give half bigha land to build houses. According to the government mandate, the person who takes advantage of this scheme will not be able to sell this land for the next 15 years. In this meeting of the cabinet, it has been announced to increase the fare of buses by 25 percent.
