Authorities on Saturday imposed section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, prohibiting assembly of four or more persons in an area.
“In order to maintain law and order, and to safeguard life and property of Public, District Magistrate Bandipora has ordered imposition of restrictions under section 144 CrPc within the limits of Tehsil Bandipora/ Aloosa/ Ajas/ Sumbal/ Hajin from dawn to dusk up to 09.07.2018,” said an official order.
As per the order, no assembly or congregation will be allowed without prior permission of District Magistrate/Additional District Magistrate/ Sub Divisional Magistrate.
“Similarly, no person shall use loudspeaker or any other device for making a speech or any announcement for any other purpose without prior permission of District Magistrate/ Additional District Magistrate,” said the order.
However, the order shall not be applicable to ambulances and other emergency services staff.
