SRINAGAR/ POONCH, FEBRUARY 11: According to Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr Asgar Samoon medium danger avalanche warning exists for snowbound areas in Qazigund, Shopian, Chowkibal-Tangdar, Taya, Ragini, Puttakhan, Zunegund, Malai, Pharkiyan, Keran Sector, Bandipora Rajdhan, Gulmarg, Neeru, Burab, Chakwali, Naugaon, Kaiyan, Radha TMG, Padam, Zebra, Patlala, Z-Gali, Macchal, Dhudi, Tsuntwarl, Drass Sector, Kargil Sector and Higher reaches of Kulgam and Anantnag in Kashmir Division.
In this regard people are advised not to venture in steep avalanche prone slope during next 24 hours.
People are also advised to keep cleaning the snow from roof top of their houses to avoid any causality due to roof collapse.
Meanwhile, In the wake of heavy snowfall in the higher reaches of Pir Panjal range in the district, Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Harun Malik has advised the people not to venture into avalanche-prone areas to avoid any untoward incident.
Meanwhile, the DC has issued directions to the concerned officers to activate their men and machinery and ensure that there is no disruption of essential services, power and water supply, health care services etc. and that there is no shortage of food grains and other essential commodities in the district especially in hilly snow prone areas of Surankote and Mandi tehsils.
