Axe may fall on non-performing Government schools


Jammu, May 17: The School Education Department has taken a strong note over the poor performance of Government schools in recently declared class 10th exam results of Jammu & Kashmir State Board of School Education (JKBOSE).

The result of many Government schools has failed to touch the mark of 50% that gave a big blow to the efforts of school education department in improving the same. Continuous downfall in quality of education in Government schools has become the talks of town, therefore parents prefer to send their wards in private schools irrespective of high fees.

Education Department has been a mute spectator over the issue for a long time but now, it could take some strict measure on the Govt. schools that have shown utmost poor performance, sources placed in department told u4uvoice.

As per sources, Government may bar increment in salaries of the teachers of non-performing schools, adding department has made up its mind and soon, it is going to issue notices to teachers. Many a times, this issue has been brought up in public domain that despite having highly qualified teachers, Government schools display poor performance. Several suggestions were given by the people from different walks of life but nothing concrete happened on ground.
