Azad justifies demand for separate AIIMS in Jammu

Jammu: Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and senior Congress leader, Ghulam Nabi Azad today justified the demand for a separate AIIMS in Jammu keeping in view, the peculiar situation of the state. This was demanded by Ghulam Nabi Azad while addressing a day long convention of Congress workers.

Addressing the Congress workers, Azad asserted that it was the UPA government’s tenure when all the three regions of the state, witnessed equal development. “Two central universities were sanctioned to both the regions. One Ayurvedic College was given to Jammu and one Unani College was approved for Kashmir,” Azad added. He alleged that the present coalition partners in the state have no common ideological meeting point and it is a unique combination only for the sake of power.

Azad lashed out at Central government for its anti farmer policies and assured that Congress Party will fight for the right of farmers. He said that the Congress would not allow the present anti farmers legislation to be passed in the parliament. Azad also said that the graph of the Central government has fallen so rapidly amongst the people in less than a year because of its wrong policies that no government in the past lost its mass support in such a short span.
