Azad writes to Badal over attack on JK students
Congress party have shown concern over reports of attack on some students from Jammu and Kashmir in Mohali and said that such incidents creates friction in the communities thus strict actions need to be taken against the assaulters.
Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad today wrote a letter to Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, expressing his views that such dreadful incident badly affects the trust and harmony.
Mob violence is opposite to the concept of law, democracy and sophisticated society. These incidents spawn deep distrust and breaks unity among the communities. Further he said that such incidents have grown wildly since BJP government has come to power at the centre.
Azad sought “strict” actions against the perpetrators.
As per the reports, three J&K students were allegedly abused and beaten up in Mohali district of Punjab on the night of March 15 after being labelled as “militants”.
After the attack, the students were admitted to the Civil Hospital, Phase-6 in Mohali area.
The Congress leader also lamented over the fact that even after so many days,no action has been taken against the attackers whose identity is apparently known.
