Two fire service vehicles were torched by angry people protesting against the killing of five militants and a civilian in Shopian district of south Kashmir on Sunday.
Official sources said that angry protesters intercepted the vehicles of Fire and Emergency Department and set them ablaze.
Two more civilians were killed during clashes with security forces after the encounter in Badigam village south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Sunday.
Official sources from district hospital Shopian said that a civilian identified as Zubair Ahmad a resident of Rajpora area of Pulwama. Sources said that Zubair was killed at Nagbal. He has two bullets in his chest and was brought dead to Shopian Hospital.

Another civilian Nasir Ahmad Kumar was also injured in clashes in Shopian village. He was shifted to nearby hospital where from he was referred to SMHS Srinagar hospital in critical conditions where he succumbed later. In the encounter, five militants including top Hizb commander Sadam Padder and KU assistant professor were killed.
The gunfight broke out in Badigam village early today after the joint team of Army, SOG and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in the area.
A policeman and a soldier of 44 RR were injured in the initial exchange of fire with the militants, reports said. The injured were shifted to 92 base military hospitals in Badami Bagh Srinagar.
Earlier, three civilians identified as Asif Ahmed Mir of Rohomoo Pulwama, Sajad Ahmed Rather, son of Manzoor Ahmed Rather, a resident of Dooru Islamabad and Adil a resident of Mahigund Ashmuji village of district Kulgam were killed during the clashes with security forces.
