Banihal Attack: 5 Accused arrested so far

Police on Sunday said that five persons, including three attackers, have been arrested so far in an attack on Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in Banihal last month.
A head constable of SSB was killed and an ASI injured in the attack on September 20.
“Nazir Ahmad Mali of Verinag in Anantnag district of south Kashmir was arrested on Friday. He was lodged in Banihal police station,” said an official.
Four accused are in the custody of Banihal police, he said.
Three attackers — Gazanfar Iqbal, son of Mohammad Yaqoob Khan of Kaskoot, Banihal, Mohammad Arif, son of Ghulam Hassan Wani of Asher tehsil Banihal and Aquib Waheed, son of Abdul Waheed Najar of Kaskoot Banihal – and one of their aide Mohammad Ibrahim, son of Noor Mohammad Gujar of Krawa are in JIC Jammu, said the official.
A case under FIR no.155/2017 U/S 302/307/382/121-A/120-B/RPC.7/27/A ACT has been registered against the accused.
