Bareilly School teacher’s gangrape and filming incident is a fake story

Lucknow, August 4: The gangrape of a 19-year-old schoolteacher in Bareilly allegedly by three masked men on a moving van that rocked the Rajya Sabha yesterday turned out to be staged-managed, said Bareilly IG Vijay Singh Meena.

Meena said facts were not adding up to corroborate the woman’s story. “Her mobile phone location was neither at the place from where she claimed to have been abducted nor where she was allegedly gangraped, but at a third place which she did not mention,” Meena said.

“She had said that the van had carried her around the industrial area but not one of the several CCTV cameras installed in the area had captured it. When confronted with these facts, she admitted to have cooked up the story to save herself from her family,” the IG said.

She said she had gone to meet her friend Amit Rathore, a college teacher, with whom she was in a relationship. She said Rathore raped her and clicked some objectionable photographs and threaded to upload them on the Internet. Scared of her family getting to know about her relationship, she reportedly cooked up the story. Rathore has been booked for rape.
