Be polite, generous with destitute: Javed tells officers
SRINAGAR, JUNE 04: Minister for Revenue, Javed Mustaf Mir today asked the officers of Social Welfare and ICDS Departments to be polite and generous with the applicants coming to them for availing benefits of welfare schemes launched in the State. “This destitute section of the society deserves financial support” said the Minister and asked the officers to extend every help and guide them properly.
The Minister was reviewing the status of the schemes being executed by Social Welfare and ICDS Departments in Chadoora constituency at an officers meeting here today.
Secretary, Social Welfare, Director, ICDS, Mr. Mukhtar ul Aziz, Director Social Welfare, Kashmir, Mr. Hashmat Ali, District Social Welfare Officer, Budgam, Child Development Project Officers of ICDS, Beerwa, Chadura, Narbal, Nagam, B.K.Pora and Khag were present in the meeting.
The Minister said that launching of welfare schemes was aimed to provide financial support to this downtrodden section of the society, adding that our mission should be to mitigate their sufferings. He asked them to follow the norms fixed for the schemes and keep in account the merit of the applicant. “I will not allow anyone to go wrong while dealing with such cases” exhorted the Minister and asked the officers to support the deserving persons wholeheartedly.
The Minister asked the authorities to organize camps at tehsil, block and district levels to sensitize people about the schemes launched in the State. He said this will go a long way in bringing maximum deserving people under the ambit of the welfare schemes running in the state.
The meeting was informed that 7339 beneficiaries of Chadura are registered with the Department and are receiving financial assistance under various schemes while 792 cases under rehabilitation of militancy victims have been sanction by the Central Government.
