Jammu: The ongoing unrest in the Valley is likely to influence electricity budget of the state. As a result, the people of Jammu have to face massive power cuts.
For the last three months, the entire Valley is under strict curfew and the clashes between locals and security forces has severely damaged the work and infrastructure of electricity department.
Amid all the turmoil and turbulence, the government has decided to put on hold the budget of electricity department.
Also, the amount of electricity which is generated from rivers: Jhelum, Indus and Chenab drastically falls during winter months. Under such circumstances, people of Jammu may have to face difficulties due to power shortage.
