Jammu, May 17: The Jammu & Kashmir Police today said that neither the accused is identified nor the motto of killing is known so far. “Such reporting which has got law and order implications is rebut. Some media channels are wrongly reporting murder of a person in Bhaderwah as incident of alleged killing by Cow Vigilantes. Such irresponsible reporting is strongly rebutted as no such info has been confirmed during investigation so far”, J&K Police stated.
Yesterday, Curfew was imposed in Bhaderwah town of district Doda after violent protests triggered by the killing of a person namely Nayeem Ahmad Shah in a firing incident. Relatives of the Nayeem alleged that he was a victim of cow vigilantism.
Soon after the incident, family of the deceased attacked the Bhaderwah police station, damaged five vehicles and set afire a three wheeler. Police used batons and teargas to disperse the mob and also detained 7 persons in connection with the case. Internet services have been snapped in the entire Doda district.
