Bharatiya Kala Sangam organises 3-day folk cultural programme
Jammu, May 13: Bharatiya Kala Sangam today organised three day folk songs, dance programme in which Dr. A.S. Amn Additional Secretary Cultural Academy was the chief guest and Soujanya Sharma, Municipal Commissioner JMC presided over the function. Besides, Anjali Sharma, Director Doordarshan Jammu, Aditi Sharma, president Aditi Welfare Charitable Trust were the guest of honours.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. A.S. Amn appreciated the efforts of Bharatiya Kala Sangam for promoting folk songs, folk dances of Dogra culture highlighting the background of Dogra culture through media of paper reading by renowned literary personalities. He assured full support to the team of Bharatiya Kala Sangam in their endeavor to develop and promote Dogra culture.
Soujanya Sharma Municipal Commissioner, JMC expressed his satisfaction over the efforts of Bharatiya Kala Sangam for organising such type of programmes which can encourage the younger generation to feel a sense of belonging towards the Dogri language.
The programme began with a seminar on folk songs, folk dances which were designed to safeguard and impart training about folk music of Jammu in which three papers were presented by Dr. Om Goswami, Mohan Singh and Sat Pal Sharma, renowned literary figures of the state.
Earlier, Sohail Kazmi, Patron-in-chief , Bharatiya Kala Sangam expalined the basic aims and objectives of the sangam. He said that a number of programmes for promoting the folk dances and folk music of Jammu has been done since its inception in 1980. The vote of thanks was presented by Chairman Bharatiya Kala Sangam T R Sharma.
