Reaching out to the victims of shelling by Pakistani troops, Prominent Social Worker and SSP (retd.) Bhupinder Singh today visited the government hospital to meet those injured in shelling by Pakistani troops from across the Line of control in the Jammu region besides also visiting the families of those killed in Arnia to sympathize and condole with them.
“The attack on our people made it quite clear that the Pakistani government has no control on their army. The big question is whether the Pakistani PM can actually control the country’s army? For now, it doesn’t seem so. It seems that the Pakistani prime minister is struggling to show his clout in front of his own army. The Pakistani army is a challenge to Nawaz Sharif. He was twice kicked out of power in 1993 and 1999 by the army. The Modi Government should better understand this fact and make its strategy accordingly. It can not compromise the security of our people by engaging in talks with those who themselves are helpless. If need be, their Army should be taken on board for talks.” Singh said.
During interaction, People demanded their evacuation and setting up of shelter camps saying they would not be able to live in the houses whose rooftops have been damaged by intense shelling. People asked government of J&K to learn lessons from previous shelling and respond in a speedier manner in responding to such situations.
