In a statement, Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary Incahrge Yudhvir Sethi has appealed the government to consider the just and the reasonable demands of ITI Diploma holders, Non-ITI, casual labours and All Daily Wagers of PHE who are dharna and Panjtirthi for last two days. He said that the demands of the agitating employees of the PHE are genuine and very reasonable. The government has been making a promises and extending assurances to them but has not kept its promise and employees have been forced to go on strike and take the matter to streets. Their demands of enhancing their wage and other allowances and for making those daily wagers permanent who have putting more than seven years of service at the earliest cannot be debunked as not fair. The prices have risen very sharply and one can hardly make do with scanty pay. The government has no reason to not to concede these demands as it has raised the charges for water supply and electricity manifold.
Yudhvir Sethi further added that because of this dharna and the strike of the employees the water supply to the city has been adversely effectively and thereby causing inconvenience and hardship to the public who are already reeling under long duration power cuts. He further appealed the agitating employees to ensure that water supply to the city is not effected lest lose the public sympathy. He assured the agitating employees full sympathy and support of the BJP.
