BJP-PDP to create history in Ladakh, to jointly form the LAHDC
After creating history by winning the state polls for the first time, and forming a government the PDP-BJP combine is set to jointly form the Ladakh Autonumous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) in which top leaders of the state including CM, and BJP state and central leaders would be present. On November 3, the election of new CEC of LAHDC, and four executive councilors would be held.
CM Mufti Sayeed. BJP’s Dr Nirmal Singh, and other senior leaders from both BJP and PDP would be present in Leh during the election of CEC, and they will also thank the people of Leh in showing overwhelming faith in BJP. Although PDP has not won a single but it most likely that 2 or 3 councillors who are going to be nominated would come from the party, and one of them would be elected as executive councilor to strengthen the political joint venture. The BJP has won 18 seats in council where as the Congress has won 5 and NC 2, and one seat has gone to an independent.
The CEC has the rank of cabinet ministers whereas the four executive councillors are given the rank of deputy ministers. The DC is the CEO of LAHDC. With BJP offering few seats to the PDP, and also agreeing to include one PDP nominee as executive Councilor the stage is set for a grand alliance o the two parties in Ladakh after it captured power in the state. The CM has also agreed to attend the elections ceremony, and will address the BJP and PDP leaders, and assure full support of the government in developing Ladakh.
