BJP’s national executive meet begins


Bengaluru, April 3 A two-day strategy meet of the national executive of the Bharatiya Janata Party began here on Friday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah, party patriarch L.K. Advani and other leaders were present.

Strengthening the base of the BJP in states where it has little presence is high on agenda.

According to party sources, the states identified for this include Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Kerala, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Odisha.

The contentious land acquisition bill which is facing stiff opposition in parliament and outside is also likely to feature prominently at the meet.

A power point presentation on the bill is expected at the national executive.

In related news, The Modi government is soon to expand its own cabinet and little birdie says that Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and PDP patron, Mufti Mohammed Sayeed’s Daughter Mehbooba Mufti is to be inducted in the Cabinet as well.

This expansion is to happen on 8 April after the National executive meet going on at present finishes. Also one member from Shiv Sena is also posed to be a part of the cabinet. With this development, some of the current cabinet members stand the possibility to be given different ministries as well.
