Jammu, October 26: It is indisputable that our state of Jammu and Kashmir produces a negligible percentage of sporting heroes for the nation. There are many factors associated with this where one frequently blames the government for lack of infrastructure, funds and many other things. But, the biggest reason in this is the lack of support from parents here who want only Doctors and Engineers growing up in their families.
The reason behind this attitude in all small cities in India is the lack of societal acceptance and furthermore the severe lack of knowledge about professional domains other than the standard Medical or Engineering Professions.
This is why Event management group, Lakhdata Events from Jammu have organized an IPL-like opening show for a 11th National Level Martial Arts (Matsogi-do) Championship to be held in December at Maulana Azad (M.A.) Stadium. The event will have an opening by six big names to keep the audiences glued to the Championship.
The world famous Rapper Bohemia, who set the trend in vernacular rapping in India is set to perform on the 27th of December. Gurdas Maan, Gippy Grewal, Satinder Satti, Sohan Shanker and Gurpreet Ghuggi have all officially agreed to perform for the opening of the 5-day event that is scheduled to see its climax on the 31st of December.
“You may have watched IPL or the pro-Kabaddi league on television and one of the elements at all sporting events is performances by artists which keep the audiences in their seats. The idea behind a performance by Bohemia or Gurdas Maan and other famous Artists is not only to glamourize the event. The truth is, when the audience cheer for the contestants, it transfers a new energy in them and that morale boost can help a losing boy or girl infusing new life into an otherwise dead contest.”
