Srinagar, August 2: Two petrol bombs were hurled at the house of Naeem Akhtar, the Education Minister, at his Parray Pora residence here. Reports say that no one was hurt.
According to sources in the police, two bombs were thrown at the minister’s residence last night. One of the petrol bombs fell in the compound and the other fell outside. The police sources said that there was no loss of life or injury to anyone as the house is vacant.
Naeem Akhtar, presently resides in the official bungalow amid high security at Gupkar Road. Police has, however, termed it as serious as the attack took place in an otherwise calm civil lines area.
Kashmir has been witnessing turmoil for 24 days in which 55 people have died so far and curfew has been in place in most of the areas.
