Srinagar, Nov 30: An incident of utter negligence shown by J&K Board of School Education (BOSE) has left the people of the state dumbstruck. It was a shocker to find out that even the highly qualified people of the society hardly have any basic information of the state.
As per reports in a local daily, the incident took place during the ongoing class 10th boards examination in the winter zone where the objective-type question in the Social Studies Paper had no right option.
The Question asked was: “In March 2015, PDP formed a coalition government in JK with?”, and the options were “I.N.C (Indian National Congress). NC, CPI (M) and PDF.” This clearly proves that even the paper setter BOSE paper-setter doesn’t know who PDP allied with to form government which has happened recently this year. Either he is ignorant or living in dark ages, alleged students after taking the exams.
“We were confused because the paper-setter had not given the exact option of BJP,” a 10th class student said.
Not just this, but in another question, the paper setter had wrongly written ‘LADHC’ instead of LAHDC which stands for Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC).
“Such paper setters should be named and shamed for playing with the career of students,” said a parent.
“Despite making efforts to streamline the system, these mistakes continue to occur. But I will see this and fix the responsibility,” he said, adding, “An example will be set in this case. You have brought this into my notice and I promise that I will be unsparing in this case. Someone will pay for this.”
Meanwhile, BOSE said it has decided that one mark will be awarded to all the candidates in Social Science subject wherein right option for one of the objectives was not reflected due to ‘topical error’.
