Jammu, July 18 : The Central University Jammu has now been given a green signal on the development of Boys and Girls hostel. The hostel approved by the UGC has been funded with Rs 50 Crore sum.
Both the hostels will have a 100 bed capacity each. As per the officials, the hostel will be structured in the main University campus itself. This arrangement will help the students who otherwise have to look for rooms and have to stay far away from the University. Especially for the security of the girls, the hostel within the main campus is the better idea.
Earlier the female students had complained a number of times regarding the problems they face living in Paying guest accommodations.
Along with the hostel construction, the University has been given a sum of Rs 15 Crore in order for building up the walls, setting fence for the campus.
The University has been rewarded with a sum of Rs 7.5 Crore owing to the Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya honor. The Centre Government has launched this scheme for Universities across India and money is given as a reward.
