Kavya Kochhar of Jammu & Kashmir bagged Silver medal in 10 m Air Pistol event in just concluded All India Kumar Surendra Singh Inter-School Shooting Championship in Junior Girls Category, which was held at Varanasi (Uttar Pardesh). Additional Director General of police Mr Dilbag Singh along with other members of Jammu And Kashmir Rifle Association(JKRA) congratulated Kavya Kochhar and her coach Mr Rajesh Virdhi and hoped that J&K marksmen will secure more medals in forthcoming national level competitions.
Kavya had recently won 2 Gold and 1 Bronze Medal in All India G.V.Mavlanker Shooting Championship (AIGVMSC) held in Mumbai in September 2017. Kavya Kochhar and her coach Mr. Rajesh Virdhi were felicitated by ADGP Mr. Dilbagh Singh and Chair person of Police wives Welfare Association (PWWA)Mrs. Bharti Vaid alongwith other members of Jammu & Kashmir Rifle Association.
Kavya started with Air Pistol Shooting in June 2015 and in 2016 she won Bronze medal for J&K in All India Kumar Surendra Interschool Shooting Championship, held in Asansol (W.B).
Kavya has brought laurels to Jammu & Kashmir state with her achievements. For the first time Jammu & Kashmir has been recognized on All India Medal Tally in Women Air Pistol shooting. Her aim is to represent her State J&K and her country at International shooting events and bring pride for the State Jammu & Kashmir.
