Breaking: Encounter breaks out in J&K’s Kishtwar, Two Cops injured

KISHTWAR:: Two SOG cops were injured on Friday after an encounter broke out between the Police and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district.

SSP Kishtwar Shakti Kumar Pathak told U4U VOICE over telephone that the encounter between security forces and terrorists broke out in the morning in Uppen village after a tip-off was received regarding the presence of terrorists in the area.

He said two to three terrorists are believed to be trapped in the area. The army has been rushed to the spot, he said.

Encounter broke out today  in Uppen village after the police launched a search operation in the area following a tip-off about the presence of terrorists in the area, a Police official said.

He said that the terrorists hiding in the area opened fire on the police party, leaving two policemen injured.

Firing was going on in the area when last report came in .
