Jammu and Kashmir police has arrested two persons and recovered Rs 50 lac demonetized currency from their possession, an official said today.
The two persons were arrested during a surprise naka checking near Batboni Baghiyas in Srinagar.
The accused were identified as Nazir Ahmad Rather, son of Mohammad Ramzan Rather, a resident of Syedpora Rafiabad and Akeel Ahmad Khan, son of Ali Mohammad Khan, a resident of Kanpur Uttar Pradesh, at present Baramulla.
“Accordingly, cognizance was taken under THE SPECIFIED BANK NOTES (CESSATION OF LIABILITIES) ACT, 2017 & further investigation was taken up. These accused persons will be presented before the competent Court for judicial determination,” said the official
