Wife of a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) worker, was stabbed to death by suspected militants in north Kashmir district of Bandipora, official sources said on Monday.
They said a group of two-three unidentified militants entered the house of PDP worker Abdul Majid Dar at Shahgund Sumbal in Bandipora district, late on Sunday night with the intention to kidnap him.
However, his wife Shakeela resisted the move when the militants were searching rooms, looking for Abdul Dar.
However, Dar’s wife tried to resist them when they went around the house looking for him, following which the gunmen attacked her and slit her throat
They said Shakeela (45) was stabbed several times with a sharp-edged weapon by the attackers, who managed to escape under the cover of darkness before the neighbors could come.
She was rushed to a local hospital at Hajin from where she was referred to JVC, Bemina hospital in Srinagar.
Shakeela succumbed in the hospital early on Monday.
A case has been registered and a massive hunt has been launched to nab the attackers ( Agencies)
