BSF jawan injured in ceasefire violation in Hiranagar

BSF Jawan HiranagarA Border Security Force (BSF) trooper was seriously wounded on Monday in firing by Pakistan Rangers on the international border in Jammu and Kashmir.

The BSF constable identified as A K Rabha of Hiranagr BSF Bn, was on duty at the International Border in Hiranagar sector when he got injured due to the unprovoked firing from Pakistan side. The constable sustained bullet injury in both his legs. Immediately the fire was retaliated by the BSF troops which continued upto 1130 hours.

“Pakistan Rangers used small arms and automatic weapons to target Bobiya border outpost of the BSF,” an officer said. The firing has now stopped and the injured Jawan has been evacuated to the GMCH Jammu.

Earlier on Monday, the Pakistan Army twice violated the 2003 ceasefire on the Line of Control (LoC) in Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district. No casualty or damage was caused in the incident.
