BSNL Obscene Messages: Hurriyat issues warning
Srinagar: Taking Union government run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited head-on, All Parties Hurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Geelani alleged that the tele-services company has been sending, continuously, “obscene and dirty messages (SMS and Service Messages)” to its customers in Kashmir.
“If this process doesn’t stop forthwith, Hurriyat Conference will appeal the people to boycott the services of this telecom company in the state,” Hurriyat Conference spokesperson, Ayaz Akbar cautioned.
“Jammu & Kashmir has remained a rich state of cultural and moral values and the government institutions under the agenda of cultural aggression want to eliminate these values of the state on different fronts so that this nation will also take the same route of the destroyed nations and along with the freedom struggle, their mental affiliation will also get weakened,” Akbar said.
“The people who are using the BSNL SIM cards are regularly and continuously receiving the obscene messages in which some selected telephone numbers and names of girls with their age are given and the subscribers are asked to call on these numbers and talk with the given names who are waiting for them and on the other side the girls have been employed for this purpose who can talk any kind of language. Besides all this, the government service provider sends so obscene messages to its customers which a civilized person can hardly look at and he feels ashamed after reading it,” Akbar said, “BSNL is a government institution and these kinds of shameful activities of such an organization is proof of this fact that these things are not only done in the pursuit of earning money but it has a well thought agenda at its back which is aimed to destroy the moral character of the teenagers and youths of Kashmir.”
“Hurriyat Conference strongly condemns this obscenity action of the BSNL telecom company and want to send a message to the organization that if they will not change their policy and will not stop to send these Messages to the subscribers, we will be forced to appeal for boycott of the services of this company to the people,” Akbar asserted. “Hurriyat Conference does not believe in force or might but the actions or the elements which are against the moral values of a human being should not be thrust upon them and we are duty bound to highlight those issues which are harmful for the nation and the society.”
