In response to Reliance Jio’s Cricket Season Pack and keeping in mind the upcoming IPL 2018, BSNL has just launched a new Rs 248 prepaid STV plan with 153GB data for 51 days which turns out to be a whopping 3GB per day. The state-owned telco said, “This plan will be useful for our subscribers to stream live IPL matches at a very economical rate.” Speaking more about the recently launched Rs 248 prepaid plan, the company did not mention any of the voice calling benefits which forces us to think that it might not offer any voice calls in the first place.
“BSNL presents IPL pack Unlimited data STV-248 for prepaid mobile customers which give unlimited data (3 GB data per day) with a validity of 51 days during the period of IPL cricket matches. This will be useful for our subscriber to stream live IPL matches at a very economical rate,” BSNL said in a statement. At Rs 258 for 153 GB, BSNL is now offering the cheapest data in the competition, however, it only offers 3G network across India while on the other hand, Reliance Jio’s offers 4G connectivity.
Moreover, BSNL’s new Rs 248 prepaid STV plan is a limited offer as it will be available from April 7, 2018, to April 30, 2018, which goes hand in hand with the company’s marketing policy of Live streaming IPL matches as the eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League is scheduled from April 7 to May 27, a period of 51 days.
Comparing it with Reliance Jio’s Cricket Season Pack, it is priced at Rs. 251 and offers 102GB of 4G mobile data for a period of 51 days coupled with free live-streaming of IPL 2018 matches. Reliance JioTV Subscribers will have access to all LIVE matches throughout these 51 days.
Joining the race of Live streaming the IPL 2018, Bharti Airtel has launched an updated Airtel TV app through which users can watch all the matches via Hotstar. While Airtel isn’t charging extra money from its subscribers, they will still have to pay for the data that is being used during the streaming of all the matches.
