Gang involved in burglaries in South Kashmir
Srinagar June 09: Kulgam police busted a gang of burglars involved in committing burglaries in various districts of South Kashmir and recovered stolen goods from their possession.
During last two months three burglaries were reported in the jurisdiction of Police Station Devsar, Kulgam in which ready-made garments, sanitary fitting items and computers were stolen from two shops and Girls High School Pahloo Devsar. Police registered case FIR no’s 16, 28, and 29 in police station Devsar and investigations were taken up.
Inspector Nazir Ahmad SHO Police Station Devsar under the supervision of SDPO Qazigund Dy.SP Ashfaq Alam meticulously investigated the burglaries. The investigating team zeroed in on two vehicle Santro JK02AF/6462 and Tata Mobile JKo2AA/6422 that were used by the burglars for transferring the loot during the burglaries. Further investigations led to the arrest of three burglars Gulzar Ahmad Mir, Nisar Ahmad Malla residents of Chak Sangran, Shopian and Mokil Khan resident of West Bengal. The fourth member of the gang Mohammad Arif Dar @ Ran resident of Ashmuji is still at large. Police recovered stolen items including Computers, sanitary items, readymade garments and the two vehicles used by the burglars on their instances.
During questioning the burglars revealed that their gang operated in various districts of South Kashmir including Achabal, town Anantnag, Pampore, Rajpora, Yaripora and Zainapora area of South Kashmir. More recoveries and arrests are expected during further investigations.
