Burhan encounter aftermath: Death toll 30
Srinagar, July 11: The death toll in the ongoing protests that erupted following the encounter of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani has reached 30 with report of more deaths pouring in from South Kashmir as communication system was partially restored here on Monday. Those killed include – 29 civilian protesters and one policeman.
The Centre has decided to send 8 more companies of CRPF to violence-hit Kashmir to bring situation under control.
The Kashmir Valley has been on an edge since Friday evening when top Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani was killed by security forces.
