Cabinet Reshuffle : Jammu and Kashmir New Cabinet to be mix of old and new faces
The BJP has said that some old ministers will be retained and some new faces will be inducted in the party cabinet after the reshuffle.
Sat Sharma, state BJP president, with whom all resignations are pending, said though the resignation of the cabinet ministers had been taken by the party, all ministers were functioning in the government till the reshuffle.
“The resignation letters are with me but have not been forwarded to the appropriate forum yet. All ministers are working as per their respective portfolios except in the Forest and Industries and Commerce, the additional charge of which has been given to the Deputy Chief Minister,” said Sharma. The BJP president said resignations had not yet been forwarded because the party was likely to conduct a meeting on the issue soon and then only any decision would be taken.
Meanwhile, the reshuffle in the BJP cabinet is all set to take place before the Durbar move on April 27. Ashok Khajuria, BJP MLC, said despite speculations about his name being circulated in whispering campaign for a ministerial berth, he had sidelined himself from it.
“I am not in any race for a ministerial berth. I am satisfied with my assigned portfolio and will remain an MLC till my tenure lasts,” said Khajuria. Sources said Speaker Kavinder Gupta had expressed his inability to take up any ministry, if offered, citing personnel reasons.
