Today the Newly elected team of Office Bearers took charge of the office wherein more than 700 members of the Chamber visited Chamber House to greet and convey their best wishes to the Newly elected team namely Sh. Rakesh Gupta, President, Sh. Rajesh Gupta, Sr. Vice President, Sh. Rajeev Gupta, Jr. Vice President, Sh. Manish Gupta, Secretary General, Sh. Gaurav Gupta, Secretary and Sh. Ashu Gupta, Treasurer. Prominent among others who visited Chamber House include Sh. Kavinder Gupta, Hon’ble Speaker J&K State Legislative Assembly, Sh. Naeem Akhtar , Hon’ble Education Minister, Sh. Bali Bhagat, Hon’ble Health Minister, Sh. Rajesh Gupta, Hon’ble MLA Jammu East, Sh. Yudhvir Sethi Sr. BJP Leader. Also Sr. Police Officers and Sr. Officers of Commercial Tax department visited Chamber House on this occasion.

The office of Chamber of Commerce & Industries (CCI) Jammu resumed office today with a newly elected team after the recent elections. Sh. Rakesh Gupta, re-elected as the President for another 2-year term interacted with media in a press conference held at CCI office today.

Reminding of the growing menace of Rohingya, Sh. Rakesh Gupta said,”We were the first organisation to identify and raise voice against the illegal settlement of Rohingyas in Jammu.” Emphasising on the consequences he added “We are determined to drive them out of Jammu by force of law or brute force.” Secondly, the Super Speciality Hospital located in Maheshpura, Jammu has to be outsourced, he informed the media sighting establishment of AIIMS in the region. He talked about the income tax surveys being carried out which causes harassment to the local traders. There are few constitutional changes needed in the organisation which our team will heed to.

Regarding parking problems, he said that they had suggested few amendments in the Jammu Master Plan. “Soon, when the revised Master Plan will be issued, hopefully they’d add more commercial complexes and parking areas.”, he affirmed.

While addressing the Media the Chamber President said that among social issues the priority of the Chamber would be to uproot and get deported the foreign settlers in Jammu which were posing great thread to the security and also urged the government to outsource the Super Speciality Hospital at Maheshpura on the lines of Narayana in Katra. He also said that the surveys being conducted by the Income Tax department were neither desired nor tolerable as the department is only targeting Jammu city in the whole of the state. He also said that the revival incentive package to the industry was need of the hour. He also said that inclusion of Women entrepreneurs in Chamber would be our priority. The Chamber President also said that necessary amendments in the Constitution of the Chamber will be made at the earliest and door to door Campaign shall not be allowed in the Elections from 2019 and urged the next generation to be ready to contest the said elections.
